Ruth Davis Parker, 72, of 711 Oak Stump Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Mrs. Parker, a native of Hertford County, was the daughter of the late William Thomas Davis and Margaret Casper Davis and the wife of Kyle Reeves Parker of the residence. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a retired Assistant Manager for CVS Drugstore. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Patty Ruth Sawyer and husband Steve of Elizabeth City, NC; five sisters, Joyce Delbridge, Augustine Hallingshead, Margaret Ann Horne, Patsy Smimmon, and Cathy Handson; two grandchildren, Kalena Lee and Christopher Duty and wife Candace; two great grandchildren, Alexander Lee and Emily Duty; and many friends. Funeral service was Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Twiford's Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Bryan Pease officiated; burial in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC was in charge of arrangements.
