Janie always went by "Johnnie Mae", she grew up in Cleburne and was a nurse there for many years before moving to Lansing, Illinois. She has four surviving children: Darlene, Troy, Lesley, and Tonia all in the Chicago area except Lesley who lives in New York. She has 11 grandchildren: Amber, George, Matthew, Michael,Troy,Shelby,Eddie, Chad, Kelly, Jordan, and Kelson.
