After Mary's death in 1825, Elisha remarried. He married Elouiza Standish on April 8, 1827 in Bozrah, New London, CT. Around 1833 he moved his family to the Michigan Territory and settled in the Washtenaw County area. He was a Farmer and Merchant. Along with his brother, James, they founded the town of Chelsea, Michigan.
He and Elouiza had 14 children: Mary Ann, Elouiza, David 1842-1927, Edward, Albert, Julia, Arthur, Sarah Jane, Elizabeth, Joseph, Henry, David and Daniel 1829-1829, and an unknown child that died in CT. Elouiza died in 1866.
Elisha had a third, and brief, marriage to Emeline F Stowe. They married on January 31, 1867 and Elisha died in May.
He was the grandson of Elisha Congdon, Sr. born 1740, CT, died 1761, Norwich, New London, CT and Nancy Ann Perkins. Great-grandson of John Congdon born 1705, RI, died 1759, CT and Mehitabel Gardiner 1715-1742.
