Word was received here yesterday of the death of Betty Lou Rich, six-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. Rich, at Twin Lakes, near Spokane, Wash., Tuesday from heart failure brought on by membraneous croup.

Mr. and Mrs. Rich have been in the west for nearly two years, where they went from this city. Mr. Rich is the son of Benjamin Rich, now deceased, who at one time was county recorder, and Mrs. Rich is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar S. Barnes, South Fourth street.

The little girl was the only child of the couple. The message stated that she fell sick Sunday and died the following Tuesday from heart failure, before it was thought that she was seriously ill.

The body will be brought to this city for burial. Orlin Barnes, uncle of the deceased, stated that he was expecting a message which would furnish details as to the time of arrival.

Survivers include Mr. and Mrs. Edgar S. Barnes and Mrs. Benjamin Rich, grandparents; the uncle, Orlin Barnes, and the parents.
