Daniel "Dan" Lee Armentrout, 61, of Front Royal died Wednesday, April 26, 2000 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Martinsburg, W. Va.

A funeral service was held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Saturday with Rev. Robert Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery in Basye.

Mr. Armentrout was born in Harrisonburg on April 22, 1939, son of Louis and Edith Moomaw Armentrout.

He attended Roller Business College in Front Royal and was a veteran of the US Army having served in Germany, and was the chemical supply supervisor at Avtex, was employed by Mighty Fine Seafood and Barbecue Co., Inc., and was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his daugher Melissa Oliver of Front Royal; a twin brother, the Rev. Dr. Donald Smith Armentrout of Sewanee, Tenn., two sisters, Linda A. Johns of Mt. Jackson and Coral Lou A. Richards of Lewistown, PA, a sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; an aunt; nine nieces and nephews and one grand-nephew.

Pallbearers were Tom Richards, Andrew Johnson, Chris Coller, David Evans, David Ramsey, and Glen Staszewski.
