Iver Marius Sivertsen was born on 21 December 1873 to Sivert Olsen Roswold and Inger Oline Larsdatter Roswold. Sivert emigrated to the USA in 1873; Iver arrived in the USA with his mother, half-sister Beret Anna, and brother Peter in 1874. In the USA, they were known by the last name Olesen, before the family adopted the surname Roswold. Iver passed away due to "intermittent fever" on 1 Sep 1874 in Calumet, Michigan. His brother Peter died just 10 days later. Iver and Peter are both buried at Adkinsville Cemetery in Douglas County, Minnesota, where the family moved to after leaving Michigan.
