HARRY DIXSON PASSES AWAY

Harry DIXSON, son of Mrs. F. A. DIXSON of Steamboat Springs, died at the home of his mother Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mr. DIXSON, who was about 32 years old, had been ill for nine years. While assisting his father, who was buying horses at Phillipsburg, Kansas, for the government during the war, Harry DIXSON was seriously injured by a horse. The animal raised up its foot and accidentally struck MR. DIXSON on the hip with its knee. Infection set in and tuberculosis of the entire system gradually resulted.

For nine years Harry DIXSON has been a patient, cheerful invalid, part of the time confined to his bed, but unable to do work. He never complained and was hopeful of recovery and had plans for the future. The past few weeks he suffered keenly from a severe pain in his chest. Tuesday afternoon while being assisted to his bed, he sat down on the edge of the bed and talked to his mother, his sister, Mrs. ELLIS, and Conn ROACH who were with him, and in a few minutes had breathed his last.

He is survived by his mother, who has been his constant companion and attendant during his illness; two brothers, James DIXSON of Clark, and Frank DIXSON of Phillipsburg, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah ELLIS of Denver and Mrs. Clara EDWARDS of Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Mrs. ELLIS had arrived from Denver Monday. The other relatives are expected to arrive today.

Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church Thursday afternoon, December 25, at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Charles E. HARDESTY officiating. Burial will be in the Steamboat Springs cemetery under the direction of A. W. Heyer.

DEATH RELIEVES PATIENT SUFFERER LONG AN INVALID

After nine years of suffering, Harry DIXSON, aged 32, passed away at 4 p.m. Tuesday, at the home of his mother, Mrs. Lucinda DIXSON, on Oak street. Throughout his long illness he had always been patient and cheerful, and up almost until the hour of his death he felt confidence in his recovery, and was making plans for next summer, when he felt that he would be in better health.

In 1915, he was assisting his father in handling some horses, the young man was kicked in the hip by one of the animals, and tuberculosis of the spine developed from the injury. Constantly he grew weaker, and in July, 1923, he came to Colorado, hoping that a change in climate might benefit him. Until last April he was with his brother, James A. DIXSON of Clark, and then he came to Steamboat Springs to make his home with his mother.

Harry DIXSON was born August 22, 1892, at Phillipsburg, Kansas, where he has made his home until coming to Routt county. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers and one sister, F. A. DIXSON and Mrs. Clara EDWARDS, of Phillipsburg; J. A. DIXSON of Clark, and Mrs. Elwood ELLIS of Denver. Mrs. ELLIS has been here, since several days before his death. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist church being conducted by Rev. C. E. HARDESTY and Rev. R. A. JOHNSON, and interment was at the Steamboat Springs cemetery.
