Bill married Albertine Carolyn Becquet, daughter of Norbert Joseph Becquet and Emma Jane Dufrin, on 8 May 1937 in Sublette, Haskell County, Kansas. The marriage ended in divorce in 1957.
On 27 Dec 1959, Bill married Bractis Rebecca (Chubb) Heryford, daughter of George Elmer Chubb and Iva May Mattox, in Pratt, Pratt County, Kansas.
Bill retired 4 March 1967 from the Garden City Co-op after working there for 16 years as head bookkeeper.
He was a Master Mason for 29 years and held many titles during that time. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #246 in Garden City and served as Secretary for a total of 12 years. He also joined the Order of Eastern Star in 1947, holding various offices. The Masonic Lodge was very important to Bill and became the center of his life. A son (Ronald Snyder) and daughter (Kathye Snyder-Knight) survive. He was a very kind and loving father to his children.
A funeral was held in Garden City, Kansas at the United Methodist Church on 15 Oct 1975 and his body was taken to Bucklin, Kansas, where he was buried next to his mother and father. Wilbur Morris conducted a Masonic Graveside Service.
