Florence Mae (Pidcock) was born on the 27 May 1857 in Scott County, Arkansas near Waldron but moved to Washington County, Arkansas by the age of 3. Her parents were Baker Pidcock (1810- some time in 1870s) and Nancy B. Branson (1817-1880). Florence Mae, her father, mother and siblings were in Washington County, Arkansas in 1870. Sometime between 1870 and 1874 Florence Mae and some siblings moved to Hill County, Texas. Florence Mae's mother shows up in the 1880 Census in Collin County, Texas as head of the household. It is assumed that Florence's father passed away in Arkansas between 1870 and 1874 before the family started moving to Texas.

Florence Mae married William Martin Holt on May 14, 1876, in Hill County, Texas. It is unknown how Florence Mae and William Martin met.

1880 - Census shows Florence Mae in Collin County Texas with her husband and sons Gabriel Singleton (3) and Francis Marion (1).

1895 - William Martin and Florence Mae's daughter Birdie Belle's ledger places them in Sans Bois County, Choctaw Nation, Oklahoma at the time their daughter Ada Florence was born. The 1910 Census for William Martin that lists Florence, Valley, Dovie, Rosa, Ada and Birdie confirms that Ada was born in Oklahoma while all the other children were born in Texas. Were they just visiting or living there for a time is unknown.

1900- Census shows Florence in Fannin County, Texas with her husband and children: John (17), Claude (14), Lilly (13), Lula (13), Valley (9), Dovey (8), Rosa (6), Ada (4), and Martin (2).

1910 – Census shows they are still in Fannin County with children: Valley (19), Dovie (17), Rosa (16), Ada (14), and Birdie (7).

Florence Mae (Pidcock) Holt passed away on 20 April 1916 in Fannin County, Texas. She was laid to rest in the Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, Fannin County, Texas.
Florence Mae was survived by her husband, William Martin Holt, her sons Gabriel Singleton, Francis Marion, and Claude Elbert, Daughters Lula Wright, Lillie Myrtle May (Holt) Thompson, Valli Fair (Holt) Hancock, Dovie Lena (Holt) Dooley, Rosa Lee (Holt) Howard, and Birdie Belle (Holt) Page.

William Martin was preceded in death by both his parents, his wife Florence Mae (Pidcock) Holt, sons Dewitt, Martin Bryan, John Howard and William Gibson, and daughter Eva.
