Mission History--On April 8, 1943 at 5:40am took off from Garbutt Airfield at Townsville piloted by 1st Lt Leonard N. Guest on a flight via Cooktown Airfield bound for Port Moresby. This aircraft failed to arrive at either airfield. When it failed to return it was officially declared Missing In Action (MIA). For several days, search aircraft searched for this aircraft over the Coral Sea without result. The entire was officially declared dead the day of the mission. All are memorialized on the tablets of the missing in Manila American Cemetery.
