He resided in Baltimore, Maryland prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on July 29, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a mechanic and also as Single, without dependents.
Daniel was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-25 didn't return from a bombing mission over Hollandia, New Guinea during the war. He and was awarded the Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart.
