Clement Vierra was born & raised in Sacramento, California. He was an outstanding athlete during his high school years. He joined the US Marine Corps Reserve on November 9, 1942 at San Francisco, California. He served with the First Marine Parachute Battalion and was killed in action near Koi-ari, Bougainville, Solomon Islands on November 19, 1943. He was awarded the Silver Star Medal and the Purple Heart Medal posthumously.
