Son of Mrs. Hazel Tucker, 863 South Barnes Street, Pampa, Texas, Parker received his education in the Public Schools of Pampa. He volunteered July 4, 1942, at Amarillo and was assigned to Navy, Air force. He trained at Great lakes, Norfolk, Virginia, and Hollywood, Florida. He served overseas from July 7, 1943, to April 22, 1944, in the Pacific Theater, participating in many battles. He paid the Supreme Sacrifice April 22, 1944, when his plane crashed in New Guinea. He was awarded a Presidential Citation, Navy Air Medal, Pacific Theater Medal and Ribbons from South America along with several Battle Stars.
