The Rev. Oliver Byrd, 69, of South Lebanon, Warren Co., Ohio died Thursday, May 28 at home.
He was born in Owsley Co., Ky., the son of Sherman & Lote (Hill) Byrd. He had lived in the Lebanon-South Lebanon area for the past 41 years.
He was the former pastor of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in South Lebanon, Ohio for several years, was a member of the Eaton Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and was retired as a draftsman from Steel Craft Manufacturing in Blue Ash.
He was preceded in death by his parents; & brothers Dewey & Edgar.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Edith (Ledford) of South Lebanon; daughter & son-in-law Charoltte & Monte Wiederhold of Lebanon; brothers Eugene, Thomas & Jesse all of Kentucky; sisters Mae Barrett, Margaret Barrett & Rebeccah Allen, all of Kentucky; & grandchildren Stephanie & Leslie Wiederhold.
Funeral services was held Monday, Jun., 1 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Art McFarland & the Rev. Ernest Murray officiating. Burial was at Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Warren Co., Ohio.
The family requests that, if desired, memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, South Lebanon.
Arrangements were handled by Stine Funeral Home, Lebanon.
