Of the Boeing Company in Wichita, died enroute to Mt. Carmel
Hospital at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, after suffering a heart attack at his home in Mulberry. He had been in ill health the past year.
Mr. Eggen was born Aug. 19, 1897 in Cato. He had lived on a farm near Croweburg for several years before moving to Wichita where he worked at the Boeing plant for seven years.
He was married to Ollie F. Carter Feb. 15, in 1918 in Girard. They had moved to Mulberry about two years ago.
Membership was held in Arcadia Lodge No.329, AF&AM, Daisy
Chapter No. 451, Order of Eastern Star in Arcadia, and the Woodlawn Christian church in Wichita.
Survivors include the widow of the home, two sons, Carter A. Eggen, Wichita, and Marlin A Eggen, Belle Plaine; three daughters, Mrs. Eugene E. Jewell, Pilot Grove, Mo., Mrs. Hardy Dunn, of Wichita, and Mrs. Jack Payne, Bronaugh; one brother, John R. Eggen, Stark; one sister Mrs. Jesse M. Smith, Twin Falls, Idaho, and thirteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Arcadia Christian church, Rev. G. W. Corporon will be in charge. Graveside rites will be held by the Arcadia Masonic lodge in the Old Arcadia Cemetery. The family will Receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday at the Berkey
mortuary in Mulberry.
