Lois Elizabeth Vail, 96, of Caledonia, MS passed away Friday, July 9, 2010 at her residence.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 12, 2010 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Smith officiating. Interment will be in Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS; Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Vail was born November 7, 1913 to the late George and Addie Duncan Jernigan in Caledonia, MS. She was a member of the Methodist Church, a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Lowndes County. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vail is preceded in death by her husband Robert Wesley Vail and brother J.B. Jernigan.
Mrs. Vail is survived by her daughters, Norma (Ray) Chandler of Caledonia, MS and Charlotte (Dr. Ronald) Graham of Hattiesburg, MS; Grandchildren, Debbie (John, Jr.) Adema, Tony (Debbie) Foster, Mike (Linda) Chandler, Cathy (Greg) Gresham and Cary (Nancy) Chandler; 10 Great-grandchildren, 5 Great-great grandchildren, Special companions, Jessie Howell, Martha Gray and 2 nieces Sarah Brummett and Johnnie Mordecai.
Pallbearers will be Mike Chandler, Cary Chandler, Tony Foster, Matthew Gresham, Scott Chandler and Tyler Chandler. Honorary pallbearers will be community friends and neighbors, James Faris, Johnny Glasgow, Sonny Aven, Jay Adema, Colin Adema, Trey Adema, Patrick Gresham, Jeff Smith and Willie "Hoot" West.
