Tech Sgt Samuel Hall Agnew, born 30 May 1915, was the son of Rutherford T and Beulah (Hall) Agnew of Baldwyn, Prentiss County, Mississippi. Baldwyn is in NE Mississippi 19 miles north of Tupelo. He left a wife, Rebecca Christine (Jourdan) and 2 1/2 year old daughter, Rebecca Diane,(b. 6 Dec 1942) in Iuka, Tishomingo County, MS. Iuka is 40 mile NE of Baldwyn.
Sam enlisted 23 Sep 1942 in Richmond, Virginia. He'd had two years of college. His civil occupation was listed under semiskilled chairmen, rodmen, and axmen, surveying. He was married (daughter Rebecca Diane was born 2 1/2 months later on 6 Dec). His next of kin was his father, Rutherford T Agnew in Baldwyn, Prentis County, MS.
