Clarence Gilstrap Succumbs in Joplin

Clarence Gilstrap, 50-year old resident of Neosho, Route 1, died at 2:45 o'clock yesterday afternoon in Freeman hospital at Joplin following an illness of two weeks. Mr. Gilstrap had lived in this district all of his life, and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was employed in Joplin as a chef at the Conner hotel.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Burkhart Church, east of Racine, by James Hall. Burial will be made in the church cemetery under direction of the Steve Parker Mortuary. The body will lie in state at the mortuary chapel until 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.

Surviving are three brothers, Bart Gilstrap of Neosho, route 1, Alonzo Gilstrap of Joplin, Lewis Gilstrap of Phoenix, Ariz., and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Cogbill of Fullerton, Calif.
