This is my grandfather who is the father of Joe Henry Martin also buried in Oaklawn cemetery. Dad was 38 yrs. old when he died. My grandfather died of Parkinson's disease and he was an amputee (both legs). He was married to Edith Anabelle (Ferguson) Martin. She is buried beside him. She was from around the El Reno area growing up. Originally her folks came from around Fayetville, Arkansas (Izard County)

Joseph Franklin Martin was born in Howard County, Arkansas to James Wyley Martin and Sarah FRANCIS (Young) Martin. They to lived in Howard County, Arkansas.

"Frank" as most people called grandad married Edith Norris at the time on April 30, 1909 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. This is Edith's second husband as her first husband was Guy Norris from Izard County, Arkansas.

They resided in Wynnewood, Oklahoma most of their married life, raising their children in that area. Frank was a farmer before he lost his limbs. A kind, quiet, gentle man who could play the fiddle. He died in December of 1961
