Succumbs Saturday
Robert Joseph Allen Sr., 55, of
21 Charles St., died Saturday
morning at Cortland Memorial
Hospital.
He was born April 12, 1916 in
Truxton, the son of Elwyn and
Rose Storey Allen, and had been
a life resident of this area.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Winifred Allen of Cortland; his
mother Mrs. Rose Allen of
Marathon; four sons, Robert J.
Allen Jr.; Francis G. Allen and
Thomas E. Allen, all of Cortland;
James L. Allen of Blodgett
Mills; one daughter, Mrs.
Richard (Barbara) Batsford of
Cortland; a brother, Clyde Allen
of Marathon, and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held
Tuesday at 1:30 p. m. from
Wright-Beard Funeral Home,
with Rev. Darrell J. Westlake
officiating.
Interment will be in Taylor
Cemetery.
Friends may call this evening
from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
