Noted Evangelist, author, speaker, Rev. Mildred F. Horn (Wicks) was born to the parents of Noah and Lucy Horn in Curry Co. New Mexico. She grew up with one sister and three brothers in the home and her family were members of the local Methodist Church.

At age 12 feeling a need to accept the Lord, she gave her heart to Jesus that would lead to many more wonderful things. Soon at the age of 16 a Tent Revival came to town in the month of September. It was an independent group but of the Pentecostal background. During this revival, Mildred knew definitely she was "saved."

Still not satisfied, she had a hunger for more. At age 18 she was invited to a Assembly of God Camp Meeting by a friend and as she said, "I accepted - my interest being just somewhere to go."

On Aug. 9, 1931 she was baptized with the Holy Spirit. That night she knew she was called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There was never a doubt of it being "The Way" that leads HOME.

She would preach her first sermon four months later to the day of being filled with the Holy Spirit on Dec. 9, 1931. A revival broke out that night against all opposition and in Mildred's town, an estimated 150 - 200 gave their hearts to God. Now, she was not the only "Pentecostal" in her home town. One month later she would marry Albert "Sam" Wicks on Jan. 14, 1932. Sam would work by her side in ministry for a season.

In the 1940's Sam and Mildred lived in Cormwell, Oklahoma where in the census records says that Sam was a Newspaper editor and Mildred was Pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Many stories of God's healing power, compassion, revivals would not be permitted here as it is too lengthy. Mildred would make her way working as a field editor among many jobs within the ministry of Rev. Jack Coe Sr. From this ministry, it would be the launching board that would thrust her into a world wide ministry that would take her to large auditoriums, tent revivals and would become an author of many books during her 60+ years of ministry.
