3398 Private William Edward Couzens, was Killed in Action on the 19th.July 1916, Aged 19, while serving with the 2/4th.Battalion, The Royal Berkshire Regiment.

Following an attack on the German lines, on the 18th.July, the Battalion war diary entry for the 19th., reported CASUALTIES - 3 Officers Killed and 2 wounded,
35 Other Ranks KILLED, 115 Wounded and 8 suffering from Shell Shock.
William was confirmed as one of those Killed.

Son of the late Mrs. J. Couzens, of Chapel St., Thatcham, Berks.
