Sgt. John Barclay , waist gunner of the B 17, flying fortress aircraft, named " the Boston Bombshell", was killed in action August 16, 1944 ,when his aircraft mission was to bomb Nazi aircraft factories at Halle, Germany. His aircraft was shot down by fighters near Marzhausen/Hebenshausen, Germany, where his body was first buried with the crew of the Boston Bombshell.
