Marlow.. Chauncey Ray Gann, 69, Marlow, retired rancher and school teacher, died in a Marlow hospital Friday following a long illness.
Born September 25, 1900 at Foster, he was a lifelong resident. He moved to Marlow about six months ago. Gann and the former Irene Ferguson married at Sulphur in 1942. He received a bachelor's degree from Northwestern State College at Alva. he was a member of the First Christian Church at Lindsay.
Survivors are the wife, of the home, two sons, Dr. Jimmy Gann, of Thibodaux, LA, and Wayne Gann of Marlow, a daughter Mrs. Zora Johnson of Duncan. A sister, Mrs. Myrtis Wells of Wynnewood, a brother, Delbert Gann of Duncan; and five grandchildren.
Services will be in Callaway-Smith Funeral Chapel at 2 pm Monday with the Reverand Curtis Ledbetter, pastor of Gospel Beams Church in Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Foster Cemetery. Bearers will be Don Douglas, Marcus Nash, Brigham Conner, J.R. Conner,Leo Stubblefield, and Mark Nash.
