William Paul King was born February 22, 1924 in Renick, West Virginia. He came to Hancock County, IL with his family where he attended Colusa High school. He was a member of the class of 1942. Paul entered the U.S. Army in April 1943 and went to basic training at Camp Grant, Il. His training was completed at Camp Pickett, VA, and six months after entering the Armed Services, he was shipped overseas. He landed in England and stayed there until after the Invasion in France, where he was then sent to France in the middle of July. Paul was a member with Company G, 112 Infantry, in the Medical Department.
