Hon. L. A. Goudelock Dead.

After several months of painful suffering, death brought relief to one of Union county's most respected citizens last Sunday evening. Mr. Goudelock came from South Carolina to the Keownville community more than thirty years ago and was at all times recognized as a safe and active worker for the good of his community and county. He served as a member of the Board of Supervisors in the early history of the county and represented his county one term in the legislature. In all his public and private acts, his course was governed by his high sense of what he believed to be best for those whom he served.

Mr. Goudelock was a loyal and consistent member of the Methodist Church and for many years gave to it faithful and efficient service in an official way. He was also an honored member of the Masonic fraternity, having recently served his lodge as Master. In all these relations both public and private, his constant aim was to be and do right. Truly a good man has gone from among us.

His remains were laid to rest last Tuesday afternoon by his Masonic brethren in the presence of his neighbors and a large number of friends from different parts of the county. The bereaved family and relatives have our sincere sympathy. May God bless and comfort them.
