2Lt. Stacy was killed in action on 9-11-1944 while flying as a Co-Pilot on a B-17G Aircraft with the 407th Bomb Squadron of the 92nd Bomber Group, 8th Air Force flying out of Podington, England.

He is the son of Mr. Charles Stacy now of Chicago, Illinois, but was living with Aunt Anna Volz & Uncle John Stacy of 615 Central Avenue in Peoria, Illinois, and was a 1942 graduate of Spalding Institute of Peoria, and was employed by the Gipps Brewing Corp. of Peoria before he enlisted in Peoria on October 30, 1942.

He did much of his training at Ellington Field, Texas where he received his Commision & Wings in the Bomber Field. He does leave two brothers, Lt. Edward J. Stacy, and Lt. Charles Stacy.
