Illness Is Fatal To Mrs. M'Kenna

Rites Scheduled at 9 A.M. Today in St. Joseph's Catholic Church

Funeral service for Mrs. W. A. McKenna, who died in a local hospital at 4:45 a.m. yesterday after an illness of three weeks, will be held in St. Joseph's Catholic church at 9 a.m. today.

Rev. Father McLaughlin will conduct requiem mass and burial will be in Riverside cemetery. She was the wife of W.A. McKenna, labor leader, 104 Capitol avenue.

Pallbearers are to be J.J. McCreary, J.O. Morgan, Charlie Campbell, Charles McBrearty, M.J. Callaghan, Jr., W.I. Stotesbury, E.M. Baggarly and Tracy Harris.

Mrs. McKenna was born in Macon June 21, 1880, the daughter of Thomas Callaghan and Mrs. Annie Murphy Callaghan, both natives of Ireland, and had lived here all of her life.

She was educated at St. Joseph's Catholic school in Washington, Ga., and Mount de Sales, Macon. She was a member of St. Joseph's church and of the Mount de Sales P.T.A.

Surviving are her husband, for years identified with labor organizations in Macon and recently appointed a district organizer for the American Federation of Labor; four daughters, Mrs. J.C. Garvin; Mrs. W. C. Baker; Mrs. Edward Hatcher, and Miss Martha McKenna; three sons, W.A. McKenna, Jr., Thomas Minter McKenna and Andrew McKenna, all of Macon.

Mrs. McKenna was a cousin of Martin J. Callaghan, Miss Lizzie Callaghan, M.J. Callaghan, Jr., and Frank Callaghan, of Macon; and Sister Rita Marie and Sister Martin Marie.
