Anna E. Dodds was born December 9th, 1878, at New Galilee, Pa. She departed this life, April 5, 1950, at Geneva, Nebraska, aged 71 years, 3 months and 27 days.

When nine months old, she moved with her parents to Saunders county, Nebraska, where she grew to womanhood. She was the youngest of a family of eight children.

Early in life she was united with the Comenanter church at Wahoo. She attended school in Saunders county and later at Peru Normal, then taught school for several years in Saunders and Knox counties.

In 1904, she was united in marriage with John Hudson Usher of Bloomfield. To this union four children were born--Monroe, Edith, Ruth and Nona.

In February, 1909, Anna E. Usher moved, with her family to a farm near Fairmont, where she resided until the death of her husband in 1941. There, she united with the Congregational church, retaining her membership until the day of her death. She also became a member of the Rebekah and Royal Neighbor lodges.

She was a loving wife and mother, who devoted the greatest share of her life to the care and welfare of her family. She was a faithful friend and a good neighbor, having a personality that radiated liveliness and cheerfulness to all those about her.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her children, Monroe H. Usher, Edith E. Usher, Mrs. Ruth Lebsack and Mrs. Nona Shaner; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Stocking of Bellingham, Wash.; one brother, John M. Dodds of Delta, Utah; two nieces; two nephews; nine grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted April 8, 1950, at 2:00 p.m., in the Federated church in Fairmont, Rev. Willard F. Payne, the pastor, officiating. Oliver Moul sang "No Night There" and "Sometime We'll Understand." Anna Marie Goodrich presided at the organ.
