Son of Saint Oceola Elliott (1877 – 1973) and Lona Sarah "Teddie" Fowler (1901 – 1970). His birth certificate lists his name as Edward Conard Elliott. Several newspaper articles list his name as Conrad.

He was reported MIA and presumed dead on 24 June 1944 over Iwo Jima.
