Thomas Michael O'Brien, of Cameron Park, passed away surrounded by family and friends on August 2, 2010. He was preceded in death by parents, Tom and Dolores O'Brien; and is survived by wife, his daughters, his three grandchildren, and his sisters. Tom was born and raised in Taft, CA and was a graduate of Taft Union High School and Fresno State University. He served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. Following honorable discharge he dedicated 18 years to the Fresno County Sheriff's Department and was an active member of PORAC. He later worked as a labor negotiator for OE3. Upon retirement, Tom found tremendous joy officiating football and softball and was often found with friends at Starbucks. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taft, CA on August 9th, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tom O'Brien Memorial Fund at Bank of America.
