Capt. Peryam was manager of the LaPonto Gold Mining company located in Baguio in the mountains of Luzon before the war. Following hte attack at Pearl Harbor he joined the Army Engineers.

He was the only son of Joseph R. Peryam of Rawlins, Wyoming. His father was a well known cowboy who rode in Buffalo Bill Cody's wild west show.
He leaves behind a son Richard M. Peryam
