Died on July 27, 2010 in Topeka Kansas at age 63, following several years of health problems.
He was born on March 14, 1947, the son of the late Reverend Walter E. Muir and Mrs. Muir. Art lived many years in Geneseo, NY and Rochester, NY where his father was Rector of St. Michael's in Geneseo and Church of the Ascension in Rochester. He graduated from John Marshall High School and served honorable in Vietnam. Following his Military Service, he returned to college and graduated from Ottawa University in Kansas in 1973. Later he earned a degree in Social Work from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and worked many years in youth centers with troubled teenagers. He retired following 15 years with the Menninger Clinic.
Arthur is survived by his mother, Helen Muir Osborn, Potomac Falls, VA. He is also survived by 2 brothers, David Muir of Clinton, MA. and Jeffrey Muir of Hong Kong, China; and 3 sisters, Judith Muir McCarthy, Columbia, MD., Virginia Muir, Barbour, Sterling, VA., and Barbara Ann Muir, Colorado Springs, CO., as well as 2 sisters-in-law, Deborah Lovejoy Muir of Clinton, MA. and Carolyn Diskant Muir of Hong Kong, China and many nieces and nephews.
