(Mark) Lehman, widely known Berne man, died around midnight Sunday night in a hospital at Clermont, Florida. Mr. Lehman was 77 years old. He and his wife had been visiting in the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Harb at Groveland, Florida the past few weeks. He suffered a stroke last Wednesday, paralyzing his left side then suffered another stroke Saturday. Mr. Lehman was a barber for many years, first here, then in Cincinnati, Ohio for 20 years. Except for the time they lived in Cincinnati, Mr. and Mrs. Lehman were residents of Berne. Mr. Lehman long was active in business, civic and music circles in Berne. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church and a former member of the Berne Chamber of Commerce. Mr. and Mrs. Lehman recently sold their home here and moved to Park Village Apartments. He was born in this community Dec. 2, 1898, a son of Carl and Bertha Liechty Lehman. He was married to Estella Moser, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Maggie) Liechty, Berne and Mrs. Gene (Berneda) Harb, Groveland, Florida; two sons, Donald of Berne and Ronald of St. Joseph, Mo.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Anna) Haecker of Berne and two brothers, Paul, Fort Worth, Texas and Arthur, Fort Wayne. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Yager Funeral Home for Marcus S. Lehman, 77, of Berne, who died early Sunday in Florida after suffering a stroke. Rev. Kenneth Bauman, pastor of the First Mennonite Church of which Lehman was a member will officiate and burial will be in the M.R.E. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. Preferred memorials are to the heart fund or to missions. Mr. Lehman was a barber and followed his profession her for many years and in Cincinnati, Ohio for 20 years.
