Mrs. Mary Gates, Former Elwood Resident, Dies
ELWOOD - Mrs. Mary Catherine Gates, formerly of 1600 South G St., Elwood, died Sunday in a Richmond Hospital.
She was born July 6, 1870, in Millhousen, to John and Mary Stahl Hessler, and was the widow of George Gates.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elwood.
Surviving is a nephew, Albert Hessler, of Muncie.
The body is at Copher-Fesler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Elwood Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Theodore J. Hammes officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery here.
