Mrs. Maude Setley Brady, fifty-nine, wife of George Brady, of Starr, Forest County, died suddenly at 8 pm on Thursday, October 7, 1943, at the home of her son, Lawrence Brady, at Starr. She was sitting in a chair conversing with members of her son's family when she was stricken, passing away in a few minutes.
Mrs. Brady was born on July 30, 1884, in Kingsley Township, Forest County, the daughter of Winfield and Elizabeth Thompson Setley.
On April 15, 1902, she was united in marriage with George Brady at Lickingville. The deceased was a member of the Starr Evangelical Church and was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Winfield Setley, of Franklin; her husband and the following children: Chalmer Brady, of Detroit, Michigan; C. Earl Brady, of Franklin; Lawrence and William Brady, of Starr; T/4 Harvey H. Brady, of the U. S. Army; Harry A. Brady, of Michigan, and Mrs. Hazel A. Albaugh of Tionesta. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Amanda Henderson, of Townville; Medora, Charles, Sylvester and Ralph Setley, of Franklin; Ida and Mary Setley, of New York City; Mrs. Nina Johnson and Katherine Setley, of Erie; Mrs. Helena Goodenow, of North East, and Harold Setley, of Youngstown, Ohio.
Funeral services in her memory were held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Starr Evangelical Church, with the Haslet Funeral Home of Tionesta in charge. The services were conducted by the pastor Rev. C. W. Shields, of Lickingville, interment being made in the church cemetery.
Pall bearers were: Roy Zuendel, Lester Zuendell, Chester Zuendel, Cyril Donahey, Nelson Heath and E. C. Burhen.
Relatives and friends present from a distance were: Mrs. Harry Alstadt, Pittsburgh; Harry Ikenburg, wife and nephew, Butler; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peebles, Harlansville; Mr. and Mrs. James Bierbauer, Edinhoro; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bierbauer, Cambridge Springs; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Youngk, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Keppel, Corry; Mrs. Edna Marlett, Warren; Misses Ida and Mary Setley, New York City; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Johnson, Miss Katherine Setley, Carl Goodenow, Erie; Mrs. Helena Goodenow, North East; Mr. and Mrs. Chalmer Brady, Detroit, Michigan; Harry Brady, Lakeview, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Setley, North Lima, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brady, Sugar Grove.
