Civil War veteran, died in New Orleans, LA while attending a Confederate reunion there. He died of a stroke, it is believed. He was the son of John Henry Bennett and Sarah Padgett. He first married Martha Cansada Crow on Jan 14, 1858 in Forstyh Co, GA. Martha was the daughter of John Crow and Mary P Crow. Andrew and Martha's children: Georgine M, John H, Sarah E, James R, Isaac Cooper, Berrien B, Harrison F, William J, Mary A, Tillman L, Alice J.

Andy married second, Espey C Moore June 5,1909. There were no children from this marriage.

Andrew Bennett was born in Forsyth Co, GA but lived in Atlanta from 1898 until 1910 when he retired. He was a building contractor, did masonry work

Two of his sons, Harrison Freeman and William Jackson lived in New Orleans, LA and rest of his children were in Atlanta and Forsyth County, except for Isaac Cooper Bennett who was living in Gwinnett County (Buford) GA at the time of Andy's death.

Andrew Jackson Bennett served in Co E, 43rd registered Army of Tennessee, called the Kellogg Rifles.
