Mrs. Hewlett died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1983, in M.D. Anderson, Houston, after a long illness.
The daughter of William P. and Flossie Scott Hamilton, she was a lifelong resident of Marshall, born April 12, 1915. She attended Marshall public schools and College of Marshall and married Ned Carmack Hewlett on Dec 25, 1946. Mrs. Hewlett was manager of cosmetic department of Matthewson Drug Co.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, a member and past president of business and Professional Women's Club, D.A.R., National Society Magna Charta Dames, Harrison County Conservation Society, National Society Colonial Dames, United Methodist Women Club and was President of Scottsville Cemetery Association.
Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1963.
Survivors include her mother, of Marshall; one brother, three sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be J.T. Capps, Gale Wilson, Roy McKay, Hendricks Hightower, Allan Power and James Bostick. Alternate will be Bill Salmon.
