Phyllis June Streight, 73, of North Vernon, Indiana passed at 6:35 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana.

Mrs. Streight was born on May 20, 1937, in St. Mary's, West Virginia, the daughter of Elmer and Garnett Baless Skinner. She married Ralph Streight on September 6, 1953 in St. Mary's, West Virginia. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2004.

Mrs. Streight worked as a cashier for Wal-Mart in North Vernon, Indiana for 2 years; she had previously worked for Howard Johnson Motor Lodge in Housekeeping/Management for 30 years in Portage, Indiana. She attended Newport High School in Newport, Ohio. She was member of Harvest Baptist Church in North Vernon, Indiana. Her enjoyments were quilting, painting pictures and reading.

Survivors include, two sons, Richard T. Streight and his wife Liesa of North Vernon, Indiana and Ray Streight and his wife Cheryle of Hernando, Florida; one daughter, Kay Rushing and her husband Bill of North Vernon, Indiana; three sisters, Myrna Burger and Violet Blake both of Ohio and Louise Lewis of Parkersburg, West Virginia; eleven grandchildren, Michael Arnold of Seymour, Indiana, Steven and Cecil Arnold and Rachel Streight all of North Vernon, Indiana, Kevin Streight and his wife Vanessa, Mark Streight and his wife Jen, and Melissa Montic and her husband Bob all of Hernando, Florida Richard Streight and his wife Chelsea, Shane and Tina Streight all of Venice, Florida, Sara Parrott and her husband Richard of Cass City, Michigan; twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Donald Streight, a grandson, David Streight, three brothers, Larry, John and Jim Skinner; and three sisters, Delores Scott, Hiddy Thompson and Gertie Pepperton.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Harvest Baptist Church in North Vernon, Indiana with the Pastor Donald Hadley officiating. Friends may call on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
