VETERAN FIREMAN LAID TO REST


Last rites were held Monday for Captain Frank A. Zellner, veteran member of the Portland fire department, who died Friday at the family residence, 4915 Northeast Eighth avenue. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.


Born in Milwaukee, Wis., he had been a resident of Portland since 1895. He was appointed to the department in 1904 and was given the rank of lieutenant four years later. In 1913 he was promoted to a captaincy.


He is survived by the widow, Francis Marie, and a son, Wesley. Burial was in the firemen's plot of Lone Fir cemetery.
