Monroe LA Morning World, Sunday, March 25, 1962:
BERNICE (Special) --- Funeral services will be held Monday for James G. Buckley, 53-year-old Bernice resident who was found dead near his home Saturday morning.
Union Parish Coroner Dr. J. G. Norris said he apparently died of a heart attack around 8 p.m. Friday night. His body was found between 8 and 9 a.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Shiloh Baptist Church near Bernice with the Rev. James Gray officiating.
Burial will be held in the Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home of Bernice. The body will lie in state at the funeral home in Bernice.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Carrie (sic) Buckley, Bernice; two sons, James B. and John W. Buckley, both of Bernice; six daughters, Mrs. G. B. Smith, and Misses Sue, Barbara, and Cathy Buckley, all of Bernice, and Mrs. Duie Brentley (sic), Wichita Falls, Tex., and Miss Maudeellen Buckley, Baton Rouge; one brother, Raymond Buckley, Glenville, Ga.; five sisters, Mrs. Howard Stephens, Texarkana, Ark., Mrs. Moses Mizell, Oak Grove, Mrs. Gilbert Mabry, Ruston, Mrs. Webster Grafton, Bernice, and Mrs. Keldron Aulds, Farmerville; and one grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers will be F. M. Walsworth, Stead Weir, Vaughn Fitzgerald, John Cavendar, John Matthews and Billy Grafton.
