Fremont, Neb. (UP). Ill health and failing eyesight were believed to be the causes of the death of J.J. Kavan, 63, widely known Dodge and Saunders county farmer, at North Bend, Kavan's body was found hanging in a barn in the rear of his home by his daughter, Agnes, who went to search for him after he was absent from the house longer than usual.. Funeral services will be held at Morse Bluff Friday afternoon.

James J. Kavan, son of John and Anna Kavan, was born September 27, 1873, in Saunders county, Nebraska, and at his death his age was 64 years, 2 months and 18 days. He was a farmer and also had worked at the carpenter trade. Two daughters, Mrs. James Menshik of the Purple Cane neighborhood, and Agnes at home, survive him. He is also survived by four brothers and sisters. Mr. Kavan moved to Dodge county in 1914 and to North Bend in 1920. He was a member of the ZCBJ lodge.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Fillipi of Clarkson will be held at the ZCBJ hall in Morse Bluff, Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Burial will be made in the Killian cemetery.
