Mr. Sam Cook, one of the best known citizens of Pickens County, died at his home from dropsy after a long illness.
"Uncle Sam" was 82 years of age and leaves a wife and several children to mourn his death. Interment took place at Shoal Creek [Primitive Baptist] cemetery Wednesday. (Sharptop Correspondence; Page 1 Col 1)
