Matherville - Andrew "Chinie" Adams, 85, of Matherville, died Feb. 7, 1994, at Mercer County Hospital in Aledo.

Services are 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Jinks Family Funeral Services, Viola, the Rev. Charles Reynolds of the First Christian Church, Keithsburg, officiating.

Burial will be in Farlow Grove Cemetery, Matherville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Mercer County Nursing Home.

He was born March 27, 1908, in Gilchrist, the son of John B. and Anna Partilla Adams.

He worked as a butcher for John's Market in Matherville for 45 years, retiring in 1975.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

He was a trustee and past officer of F.O.F. Aerie #2019 Matherville and a member of Mercer County VFW Post #1571, Aledo.

Survivors include a nephew, Marvin Matkovic of Matherville; six nieces, Pam Adams, Matherville, Ganna McWhorter, Aledo, Pat DeBruyne and Marlene Boozan, Milan, Jenise LaMantia of Davenport, Iowa, and Jackie Carlson of Palm Coast, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters.

Pallbearers are Morton McWhorter, Troy Adams, Dan Matkovic, John Matkovic, Kent Sulouff and Doug Lindy.
