FORTVILLE--George C. Beaver, 85, Rt. 1, Shirley, formerly of Fortville, died Thursday evening at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield after an illness of one year.

Born March 2, 1895, in Hancock County, he had resided most of his life in this area. He retired in 1960 from Delco Remy Division. The World War I Army veteran was a member of the Old Mount Zion E.U.B. Church and attended the Fortville Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by a son, Robert P. Beaver of Shirley; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Betty Jean) Perry of Carmel; a brother, Nathan Beaver of McCordsville; thee grandsons and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Ronald Seals Funeral Home with the Rev. Orville Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Gravel Lawn Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
