Esther Mae Foster was born to Ernest Elmore and Leneda Gladys (Fowle) Foster, at home on Sunnyside Avenue, in Saugus, Massachusetts. She was the youngest of five children. On 18 Oct 1940, she married Willard Henry Norton, son of Ernest Merrill and Vida Ella (Lakeman) Norton, of Saugus, Massachusetts and formerly of Jonesport, Maine. Esther and Willard had two children, Esther Lee and Wendy Norton. Willard and Esther relocated their family to Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Esther died tragically at 56 after a 16 year illness caused by a traffic accident. She was a loving mother, companion and daughter. Her mother Leneda lived with Esther and Willard for their entire married life. Esther's cremated ashes were scattered by her children and husband, in Elizabethtown, as were Willard's later scattered by their children, in an area the couple spent many hours walking. Esther is memorialized on the gravestone of her parents and grandparents in Saugus, Massachusetts. RIP dearest mother, you are never forgotten.
