Funeral services for Elizabeth E. Nickell were held Tuesday in the Chapel of Macy and Son with interment in the Carlton-Yamhill Cemetery. Mrs. Nickell died May 31 in a Portland hospital.
Elizabeth E. Nickell, daughter of William and Mary Martz Meedel, was born Sept. 20, 1896 at Duncan, Neb. As a young girl her family moved to Carlton where she received her schooling. She was married to Franklin D. Nickell Sept. 22, 1915, at McMinnville. They made their home at Carlton until 1929 and had lived at Newberg, Lafayette and Sheridan before settling at Forest Grove in 1933. They had been residing at Lincoln City since 1956. She was a member of the Christian Church and a former member of the Carlton Rebekah Lodge and the Grange.
She is survived by her widower, Franklin; a son, Allan D. of Forest Grove; a brother, George Meedel of Carlton; a sister, Mrs. Edna Hull of Lincoln City; a granddaughter and two great-grandsons.
