Lorene Lovella "Rene" Foster was born 19 August 1934 in Culp, (Baxter Co.) Arkansas to Benjamin Franklin "Ben" or "Bennie" and Malinda Elizabeth "Linnie" (Norman) Foster. She was the fourth of eight children born to their union.

Rene lived in Arkansas and Missouri before the family settled in Dallas, (Polk Co.) Oregon sometime during the year of 1951. She finished out her high school years at the Dallas High School there.

On 4 December 1962, Lorene was united in marriage to Michael F Guddy in Clark County, Nevada. To their union, three children were born: Kenneth, Michael and Frank.

During their marriage, Rene and Michael lived in San Juan Capistrano, (Orange Co.) California. While living there Rene was nominated Citizen of the Year, participated in the Miss San Juan Pageant--donating the ring and tiara for many years--served on the Board of Directors for the local Chamber of Commerce and ran her own jewelry store for more than 40 years.

Sometime in the late 1990s or early 2000s, Rene and Michael were divorced. After the divorce she moved back to Oregon and settled in the Salem area where she lived until about 2004.

In about 2004, Rene suffered a severe stroke that left her requiring supervision and care. At that time, she chose to move to Tillamook, (Tillamook Co.) Oregon to live with her youngest sibling, Naomi (Foster) Wheeldon.

During the time that Rene lived with her sister, other relatives that lived close--including Naomi's daughter, Tanya, and her granddaughters, Rochelle and Felicia--regularly helped care for Rene when Naomi could not due to her busy work schedule.

Rene lived with her sister for a few years before she was finally able to move back out on her own. At that time, she moved to a small apartment in Garibaldi--a few miles north of Tillamook--where she briefly lived.

Another stroke led to her moving back in with her sister for a short time before several more required her to have more care than Naomi could provide. Once it became apparent just how much care she would need, Rene and Naomi moved her to the Nehalem Valley Care Center in Wheeler, (Tillamook Co.) Oregon.

On 14 May 2009, Rene passed away while still a resident of the Care Center. A beautiful graveside service was held for her on 21 August 2009 at the Dallas Cemetery in Dallas, (Polk Co.) Oregon.
