John Franklin "Mac" McGee, 67, husband of Janie Campbell McGee, died August 1, 2010 at McLeod Medical Center in Florence.

Born in Amherst, OH, July 1, 1943, he was a son of the late Arthur J. and Pearl Risner McGee. He was a US Navy Veteran where he served aboard the USS Power and was employed by M.B. Kahn Construction Co. of Columbia.

A resident of Greenwood since 1971, Mr. McGee was an active member of First Christian Church, the Emerald Seniors Golf Group, and was an avid motorcycle rider, fisherman and enjoyed camping. His greatest time was spent working on his property with his son Frankie and recently remodeling his daughter, Teresa's, home.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a son, Frankie McGee and wife, Ann and a daughter, Teresa McGee Hinton and husband, Timothy, all of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Shelby McGee, Amber, Dyllan, Dakota, Ashlyn , Bryar, and Blaze Hinton, all of Greenwood; two great-grandchildren, Ky'Lee Marie and So'Fia Elizabeth, both of Greenwood; two sisters, Enid Rush and husband, Chuck and Denise Lastovka, all of Ohio; two brothers, Mike McGee and wife, Bonnie of Kentucky and Billy McGee of Ohio and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Dorothy, Shelia, Shirley, Larry and James McGee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Hodge officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Brad Hamlett, Darrell Hamlett, Nick Rush, Chris Rush, Matt Phillips, Tony White, Marvin Bradley and Jay Matthews.

Honorary escort will be employees of M.B. Kahn Construction Co, members of the Emerald Seniors Golf Group along with Gene Gardner, Bill Rains and Cullen Montjoy.

The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 474 West Deadfall Road, Greenwood, SC 29649.
