Carrie M. (Roberts) Barnett, 83, of Derwent passed away Wednesday July 14, 2010 at the home of her daughter. She was born February 22, 1927 in Austinville, Alabama and was the daughter of the late George and Iva (Busbee) Roberts. Carrie retired from Champion Spark Plug after 30 years of service. She was a member of Derwent United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, quilting and crocheting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Barnett whom she married November 5, 1945 and passed away October 1, 2000; two sisters, Mary Parmer and Mary Mirle Roberts; two brothers, Justin and Luther Roberts.
She is survived by two daughters, Dale (Kenny) Farrar of Senecaville and Gaye (Bob) Kackley of Byesville; one sister, Gaye Pirtle of New Mexico; four grandchildren, Tamara (Scott) Piper, Trudy (Josh) Casper, Bill (Laura) Kackley and Alissa (Matt) Wood; five great grandchildren, Olivia, Laurel Piper, Gillian, Hoyt Wood, Grace Kackley.
Calling hours will be Friday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Roger Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
